Passion and Dedication of the Craftsman

Ise-katagami, which is made by hand-carving patterns and designs on astringent paper
by skilled craftsmen, is sandwiched between glass and resin
to create dishes that are easy to incorporate into daily life.
The square plates are inspired directly from katagami
and come in three different designs.
All the patterns are carefully carved one by one
using the traditional technique of "Hikibori,"
which involves the use of a single small knife.
Since they are intended for daily use,
they are coated with resin and given a special treatment
to make them water-resistant.
The transparency of the glass makes
the Japanese patterns stand out,
and when not in use, it is a unique product
that can be displayed in a room and enjoyed as interior decoration.
