A lacquered cup and saucer with accents from two lines of brass.
The shine of the brass adds to the calm colours evocative of
natural greens and the colours of nuts and earth to beautiful effect.
The shape of the cup with its swelling in the centre is
chubby yet charming.
The cup's solemn appearance belies a surprising lightness,
and a sense of the delicate lacquering can be felt
from the palm of your hand.
The exterior of the cup has a grainy finish, onto which
coloured lacquer has been applied,
followed by a sprinkling of dry lacquer powder
before grinding and polishing.
The inside of the cup is thickly layered with lacquer
and will not discolour even after many years of use.
The cup can be used for coffee, but we also recommend
you try it when enjoying whiskey with water on ice.
The saucer can be used as a small plate to serve food or snacks.
Polish the brass with a cloth to restore its luster if it fades.
Taking care of a cherished item is also sure
to give you a sense of the extravagant.
