TOKYO Teshigoto

Jewelry with a simple design hiding a playful soul.
A close look reveals slices of lotus root and okra,
while a closer look reveals hidden pads
– hence the name “Vegetable_Pad”.
Behind these items is the third-generation
authentic jewelry workshop craftsman, Mr. Sashou,
who is highly skilled in a variety of metalworking techniques
including ore-creation from melted gold and platinum,
metal hammering, and metal engraving.
Mr. Sashou also creates stage jewelry such as tiaras used in
theatre productions, but it was the idea of people
having a more familiar and casual enjoyment of traditional crafts
that gave birth to these playful pieces of jewelry.
These simple yet unique motifs can be enjoyed
in a wide range of uses by a wide range of ages.
Each vegetable comes as a pin brooch or as earrings,
in either gold or silver.
