was created inspired by the beauty of subtraction and

“KAWA-ORIGAMI” has developed
several series with different textures.
“Washi-Kawa Kisshomon (washi is Japanese paper,
kawa is leather, kisshomon are auspicious patterns)”
was born from a new attempt to paste mino washi on pigskin.
It is processed so that washi remains
in the part of the kisshomon,
though the unique fibre of washi also remains,
creating an invigorating texture.
A traditional design is embossed with
the mesh grain called “Ajiro Ami Grain”.
Deep contrasts hard to believe it’s embossed
give different impressions in different lights.
