Information on the year-end event “Kabukiza Makuai Ichi in ISETAN”

Event

“TOKYO Teshigoto” will open a store at “Kabukiza Makuma Ichi in ISETAN”.
The atmosphere of the Makuai (intermission) of Kabukiza is authentic. Kabukiza’s souvenir shop will appear in Isetan Shinjuku as “Kabukiza Makuai Ichi (intermission market)”. In addition to “TOKYO Teshigoto” products, we also have a wide range of food items emphasizing the “Wa (Japanese)” style of Kabukiza, Kabukiza original products, and everyday items, from kimono accessories to stationery. Demonstrations by skilled craftsmen are also planned in the “TOKYO Teshigoto” corner.

<Mont Blanc Corporation>
A traditional Tokyo umbrella manufacturer. All processes are handled by skilled craftsmen using traditional Japanese techniques such as “hogushi-ori (labor-intensive hand-woven weave)” which features a unique, artistic design.

< Uno Hake Brush Manufacturing Co.,Ltd.>
Using traditional brush making techniques, they manufacture and sell a wide variety of Tokyo Teue (handmade) Brushes, including unique designs.

<Bekko Isogai>
A tortoiseshell workshop that employs traditional techniques continued from the Edo period. In addition to traditional ornaments, the artisans continue to challenge themselves to create modern designs and unique products. They also have original Kabukiza products.

< Namidabashi Oshimaya Lantern Shop >
This long-standing store, founded in 1913, has continued to make “Edo-style Hand-painted Lanterns” and has also worked on Kabuki props. The products match modern lifestyles, such as lanterns that hold smartphones. You can place orders during the demonstration for a personalized lantern.
