This doll is made with the traditional techniques of Edo
kimekomi ningyo (wood and cloth dolls), using sumo wrestlers
as the motif. It is a lucky charm that combines sumo, which has
been practiced as a Shinto ritual since ancient times, with a bell
treated as a sacred object. The soft sound of the bell echoes
when the doll is moved, making it very heartwarming combined
with the cute expression.
