By introducing horizontal cuts never before used in Edo Kiriko, this design achieves both the beauty of reflected light and a comfortable, non-slip grip. With its simple composition, the overlapping stripes at the front and back create a layered brilliance with greater depth than conventional Edo Kiriko. Showcasing the artisan's skill and sensitivity, each piece is meticulously crafted with only delicate horizontal cuts, expressing the texture of the traditional Japanese washi paper used in lanterns. This represents "a new form of Edo Kiriko," reinterpreted Edo Kiriko for the modern era.
