The TOKYO Teshigoto Project: Forging the Future of Traditional Crafts
—Presenting New Traditional Craft Products Developed through Collaborative Initiatives with Traditional Craft Artisans and Business Partners—
The Tokyo Metropolitan and the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprises Support Center are implementing the TOKYO Teshigoto (Traditional Craft) Project, which works to facilitate development of new traditional crafts geared toward modern consumers, and to support development of new markets for these products both in Japan and overseas. On this occasion, we are pleased to reveal new products developed through collaborative initiatives with business partners such as traditional craft artisans and designers. Other announcements and commendation ceremonies such as the Tokyo Governor’s Award, which is presented to the top three products, will be held concurrently. This is an unsurpassed opportunity to view an array of exciting craft products imbued with the special qualities of living tradition.
We look forward to seeing you all there.
