Hitoito is a pendant necklace created by Team Embroidery Tokyo, an embroidery workshop that has passed down the traditional techniques of Edo embroidery to the present day.
On their own unique dodecagonal metal bases, symbolizing good fortune, elegant traditional patterns such as phoenixes and continuous motifs have been reinterpreted as original designs for a modern look. The front and back use contrasting colors and patterns to embody the Edo-era aesthetic of "ura-masari," where the hidden side is made even more elaborate than the visible one. Edo embroidery techniques used for sashes or kimonos have been distilled to the microscopic scale as decorations. Using ultra-fine silk threads, genuine gold threads, and silver threads, the stitching technique, thread tension, and layering are meticulously adjusted to create a deep, complex pattern.
