High levels of skill are needed to work 999 silver. Here, the forging techniques of swordmaking are applied to increase density to bring out the shine and unique shimmer of 999 silver. The edges feature the traditional ikekomi technique, in which the rim is carefully formed and reinforced to create greater depth, weight, and brilliance.
