Passion and Dedication of the Craftsman

A handmade brush with an Edo Kumiko latticework handle.
While most brushes are stored out of
sight in drawers, these feature designs that allow them
}to be used as interior decorations.
The three kinds of Kumiko designs are "Asanoha", "Koushi",
and "Masutsunagi", and all provide a sense of the auspicious.
While you could never tire of looking at the beautiful
Kumiko latticework, the brushes are also functional.
The bristles are made from the soft and downy tail hair of horses.
It is fine quality hair with body that is used
in brushes for delicate fabrics such as cashmere.
Place a brush in your entranceway to remove dust from clothing.
Or place one in your living room
to remove dust from decorative plants.
The designs are a match for either Western or Japanese tastes,
and look good anywhere.
The handles are made from wood from Kiso Hinoki cypress trees
more than 300 years old, and you can observe them change
to an amber colour with repeated use.
Width has been used for sturdiness,
but beveling has been used for a gentle feel in your hand
for this brush that is both great to look at and great to use.
