Passion and Dedication of the Craftsman

TokyoHonzome Gilet was created to serve as a bridge for traditional patterns and techniques to cross over into the 21st century. While resembling a yukata in appearance, this is actually a new style of Japanese clothing that can be quickly thrown on over a T-shirt or blouse for an effortlessly put-together look. Three fun, playful designs are available: Chrysanthemum, UFO Fuji, and Fireworks. To deal with the issue of color fading in traditional chusen dyeing, a high level of durability was achieved through taking the time to get the fibers and dye to bond firmly. Very few dyers in Japan follow this process properly. Another feature is how the unlined garment is just as beautiful on the inside thanks to the way chusen dyeing creates the same pattern on the other side of the cloth. Its simple design, without any front fasteners, lets wearers have fun creating their own style through pins, haori cords, or more.
