Passion and Dedication of the Craftsman
Connections, growth, good fortune, victory--Monpluie Amulette is a Tokyo Yogasa umbrella that expresses the wishes incorporated in traditional Japanese motifs, reinventing them as umbrellas that connect people; umbrellas that are chosen for their meanings.
The variations in line and white spaces created by the stencil paste resist dyeing and undyed areas give the patterns a depth that printing cannot. While maintaining the elegant appearance of a long umbrella during use, it can be shortened to a compact size for transport or storage. The coolness of the breezes let through by the natural materials, and the way it develops character over the years are key points.
It is sewn using rare Kanto stitching (sewn from the head), and the cutting precision, fabric feeding, stability of sewn line and more create an umbrella that embodies advanced techniques, balancing craftsmanship and mechanical design.
