Passion and Dedication of the Craftsman
LINESCAPE are blankets inspired by the aesthetics of Japan, where spaces are decorate by the straight lines of shoji windows, tatami mats, and more.
LINESCAPE comes from the words "Line" and "-scape", suggests landscapes formed of lines.
These blankets, as the name suggests, depict landscapes in fabric through the traditional kawaritsuzure-ori technique of Tama Ori, where the stripes give depth and breadth to the flat surface.
Kawaritsuzure-ori is a technique where weft threads show on the front and warp threads show on the back, and is noted for how it optimizes weave density and thread thickness. The pattern alternates between areas with the warp threads visible and areas with the weft threads visible, creating complex designs with both depth and movement. Tama Ori is usually woven from silk, but these blankets are created from a luxurious blend of wool, silk, and alpaca. Soft on the skin, they are comfortable to use.
Incorporating a uniquely Japanese aesthetic, they are unique and modern. High-quality products that can be easily incorporated into today's Japanese lifestyles.
