Edo Kiriko Glass: with the Sparkling Brilliance of a Lustrous Lantern

Japan’s representative crafts embody, within a seemingly simple exterior, a vast wealth of knowledge and outstanding technique cultivated throughout their history. We have embedded the skill and dedication found within this elegance into the traditional Japanese motif of lanterns.
By introducing horizontal cuts never before used in Edo Kiriko, this design achieves both the beauty of reflected light and a comfortable, non-slip grip. With its simple composition, the overlapping stripes at the front and back create a layered brilliance with greater depth than conventional Edo Kiriko. Showcasing the artisan’s skill and sensitivity, each piece is meticulously crafted with only delicate horizontal cuts, expressing the texture of the traditional Japanese washi paper used in lanterns. This represents “a new form of Edo Kiriko,” reinterpreted Edo Kiriko for the modern era.
In response to requests for glass pairs, we offer three color variations: crystal, amber, and black.
