05Tokyo Ginki

#

Tokyo Ginki is a metal craft made primarily from silver with a purity of 92.5% or higher. In the mid-Edo era, silversmiths and ornamental craftsmen emerged, and silverware and silver utensils became widely popular. Along with this, Tokyo Ginki was developed. The production of these pieces involves various techniques such as forging (shaping metal by hammering), chasing and engraving (decorating the surface with patterns), inlaying (cutting out patterns and embedding different metals) and soldering (joining metals by melting a metal with a lower melting point than the base metal).
