TOKYO Teshigoto

Containers for daily use and enjoyment featuring the unique luster
and fabric-tone of Murayama-Oshima Tsumugi silk weaving.
The simple and warm texture is a delight to touch.
Murayama-Oshima Tsumugi silk weaving originated
in the second half of the Edo period,
with production being focused in what is currently
the area around the city of Musashimurayama.
Tafusa Sensyoku is a dyeing and weaving workshop
that has been in business for four generations.
Workshops that engage in both dyeing and weaving
have become less common, and Tafusa’s desire for users
to enjoy Murayama-Oshima Tsumugi silk weaving is
infused in these items.
The pouch can be used as a bag within a bag,
while the case is a snug fit for tablet devices and
the clutch bag can accommodate a notebook computer
and still look chic, even on men.
User-friendliness is also a focus,
with fabric that is gentle on LCD screens used for the inside of
the tablet case, and firm stuffing incorporated into the clutch bag.
Three options are available, with combinations of
Asanoha patterns and patternless designs that emphasize
the texture of the silk thread.
The bright colours give the traditional designs a modern shine.
