Edo tsumami kanzashi is a craftwork accessory made by cutting habutae cloth
into tiny pieces and pinching (tsumamu) them with a tweezer to fold and shape them.
Pierce de Kanzashi consists of a set of six pairs of original earrings
and can be arranged to be a traditional kanzashi.
Each earring becomes a blossom whose petals are carefully folded
into shape one at a time, using sophisticated tsumami technique.
The flowers and birds used as motifs are imbued with a bubbling vitality
and liveliness that could not be attained with artificial flowers.
Attach the earrings to the special kanzashi,
and you have a hair ornament that adds a colorful flair to traditional Japanese dress.
